What stands out
April 2026 had the highest count in the latest twelve months: 2,115 requests, or 25.3% of the year’s total. The same month a year earlier had 766.
The annual increase hides an uneven pattern. April’s peak stands out much more than the late-summer figures. A rise in reports can reflect road conditions, reporting habits or changes in the service system. These monthly counts alone do not establish which explanation is responsible.
Neither series measures how angry Calgarians are. One person can submit more than one request, and several requests can concern the same issue. Residents who never contact 311 do not appear in these counts.
Source, coverage and method
- We sum the monthly category counts in the reviewed Calgary 311 snapshot. It covers September 2024 through August 2026; the month in progress is excluded. Each comparison uses the same twelve calendar months one year apart.
- This report includes only the exact official category Roads - Pothole Maintenance. It does not combine other road maintenance categories.
- Percentage change is the difference divided by the earlier count, multiplied by 100. Displayed percentages are rounded to one decimal place. If the earlier count is zero, we do not calculate a percentage change.
- The snapshot contains aggregate counts, so we cannot remove repeat reports about the same incident. We have not added a request-level deduplication step. No individual service requests, addresses or complainant details are published here.
- This is a reviewed edition, not a live feed. September 16, 2026 is the review date, not a claimed download date. Calgary can revise historical records, so the live source may later differ from this edition.
